Our Causes

The Bali Ball 2014 ‘The Best of Bali’ is supporting and raising funds for four incredible charities. Please see below for more information about each organisation.

Bali Kids

www.balikids.org
Bali Kids is a special place for disadvantaged children. In addition to providing short, medium and long term shelter in their orphanage where up to 30 children become part of the Bali Kids family, the Bali Kids facility is also open to sick Indonesian children of all religions living in Bali. Parents from poor or economically challenged communities can bring their child to them for medical attention and treatment. Last year they provided this service to almost 6000 children.

Bumi Sehat

www.bumisehatbali.org
Bumi Sehat runs two community health centers in Bali and Aceh, Indonesia. They provide over 17,000 health consultations for both children and adults per year. Midwifery services to ensure gentle births is at the heart of Bumi Sehat and their clinics welcome approximately 600 new babies into the world each year. Their mission is to reduce maternal and child morbidity and mortality and to support the health and wise development of communities.

Yayasan Samaritania

Yayasan Samaritania was founded on the 11th September 2004 by Eko Iswanto.
The charity has assisted the poorest of the poor street children sheltering on a rubbish tip in Sanur by providing schooling, health services and nutritious staples for 192 children ranging from 4 to 16 years of age. The compassionate movement of the charity makes a difference in the lives of the poor and impoverished with the consistent support network it offers within the community.

Bali Children Foundation

www.balichildrenfoundation.org
Bali is famous worldwide for its ancient culture, breathtaking landscapes, spectacular beach resorts and being idyllic in every sense.
However Bali’s remote rural communities have been heavily impacted by both man-made and natural disasters and many families are caught in the poverty trap with little or no income. There is minimal government assistance and all education must be paid for.
The drop-out rate in rural primary schools is very high. Children frequently have no option other than a lifetime of working on the land. With objectives including to provide community education in remote areas of Bali plus primary, secondary and tertiary scholarships, the driving vision at Bali Children Foundation, is to provide an educational pathway for disadvantaged Balinese children – a journey leading to growth and long term sustainability.

The Bali Ball would like to express our thanks to our wonderful sponsors for 2014 so far – Primafit, Bali Adventure Tours, Elephant Safari Park & Lodge and Ubud Adventure & Function Centre.
Without your generosity the event simply would not happen and we could not continue providing this life-changing funding to disadvantaged children and families across Bali.
It still isn’t too late to give back to Bali by becoming a Bali Ball sponsor.
